Wierd, suddenly web links placed on my desktop no longer open up to the linked web site. The Internet Explorer window comes up but stays blank (that's my default); the web link I clicked on never opens in the explorer window. Also, the same thing happens when other apps try to open an explorer web browser window (say, to display the vendor's web site).
I can go into Favorites in IE, though, and those links work fine. They just don't seem to work anymore when opened "externally". If I go into Netscape 6.2 and set that to handle the assorted html extensions, it opens the desktop links just fine (and oddly, IE doesn't complain about not being the default).
This all used to work fine, until I discovered this problem today. The only things that have changed recently, I think, are that I installed Netscape 6.2 about a week ago, and Pinnacle Studio 7 today. I'm inclined to blame Netscape, but I think I would have noticed this problem sooner if that was the case. And I don't see any reason why Studio 7 would cause this issue, so I'm stumped.
Any ideas?
