Links open in minimized window

I use XP Pro. When I start Internet Explorer it starts in a maximized window. However when I click on a link, the new Internet Explorer window that opens is minimized.

How can I make those windows open maximized?

See if this works

Open Internet Explorer
Shift + 'click a link' to force it to open in a separate window
Alt + Tab to return to the first window
Close it, leaving only the small window open
Drag the window edges to adjust the size
Close the resized window

Moonbeam, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it did not solve the problem. The window still opens at its previous minimized size.

Open an IE window, resize to how you like it, File, close.

open ie
hit the stop before any site opens
adjust the screen the way you want it
close the window
now open ie
the window should open the way u closed it the prev time.
