😀 So it seems that Rad9700 is about 30-50% faster thanGF4TI4600. Rad9700 can 4xAA at the same sort of hit as 4600 has with 2xAA. Aniso as always is more complex, esp with perf and quality modes for the Rad9700. Anyway it seems clear that Rad9700 has caught up with GF3/GF4TI for Aniso quality and surpassed them in Aniso speed.

😱 Of course comparing Rad9700 ($400) with GF4TI ($130-250) isn't entirely fair as it is NV30 that is aimed to compete with Rad9700 and is a bit like comparing GF3 to Rad7500, however since Rad9700 and GF4TI are the fastest chips on the market it makes sense to compare them.

😉 4600 cards suppliers and their US$ prices (price/shipped):

Xtreme Gear 242/242
McGlen Micro 245/251
FTIComputer 245/255
GameVE.com 259/259
OC System 259/269
Allstarshop.com 269/269
NEWEGG.COM 270/270

Micro-Pro, Inc. 269/274
Computer Brain 262/274
Sybercom Info 274/274
ENPC.COM 275/275

😱 You have to offset the added cost of the Rad9700 in to the equation. Not only that but 4200 cards start from $130 and these o/c to within 10% of the 4600, are half the price of 4600 AND a third the price of the Rad9700.

😉 And before I get attacked by ATI fans here's what I can find on Rad9700pro:

http://www.enpc.com/ $374
http://www.dljsystem.com/ $374
http://www.lynncomp.com/ $378
http://www.runtimecc.com/ $404
http://www.computerhq.com/ $408

😱 I don't believe any of these sites actually have Rad9700 in stock yet though, still very nice for $374+ when they do get hem in (should be a week or two). Makes you wonder what the price will be in Dec/Jan when nVidia's NV30 is released (don't forget the NV18 and NV28 too).

The cheapest price I know of for the R9700 is $340 at eCost.

I doubt this will hold true for very long though, as prices always drop quickly once it actually reaches availability rather then pre-order.
