Linking Tecra 8200 Laptop w/ Desktop (?)

Is there a way to transfer files from the a Dell Desktop GX1 to a Tecra 8200 laptop?

I'm thinking if theres some sort of cable that could be used to directly transfer files between the two systems, and if so what kind of cable do I need and how would I go about setting this up.

EDIT: When I was talking about cables I meant like USB, serial, parrallel.

I'm thinking USB is a possibility, but I'm not sure how it would work.
 
Bump, I need to know if its possible and whats involved. I recall doing a parrallel direct connection back in win95 days with two PC's. Yet, I'm not sure the process for laptop/pc with winNT and 2k.
