hello all,
was just wondering if someone could provide a link to intel's planned pricing of processors (especially quads, but i'll take the duos if you have them too :)) in the near future. reason i ask is i might be getting into some HD filming/editing, so i'll be looking for something to replace the ol' e4300.

thanks in adance

I'd like one too...There should definitely be a sticky about the whole Intel processor line (speeds, multipliers, typical OC's, upcoming release dates, etc) on top of the page.

Well the only thing I have heard is the introduction of the Q9550 with a few price cuts. Intel just recently cut prices on just about all of its processors. Here is the only thing I've heard:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/...rocessors-Coming-Q3/p1
http://www.crn.com/white-box/209400690

Aside from the price cuts that have already happened, the Q9450 will drop to $266 as the Q9550 will cost $316. But I definitely agree. I'll always catch a processor price slashing from a message board post, but whenever I forget about it I can never find the information again.

The E8500 cuts have already occurred

I believe some have said that Aug 10th or thereabouts was the price cut for the Q9550 which is currently sold many places in the $550 range

yeah, all they're doing is bumping up the multi a 1/2 step on q9300 (to make it q9400), 9450 (to make it q9550) and 9550 (to make it 9650). they go from 7.5, 8, and 8.5 to 8, 8.5, and 9. pretty tricky, but they can get away with it when amd's cpu dept is asleep at the wheel. good thing for them the gpu guys showed up this year or they'd probably all be in the soup line right now...

WOOT!

Hmmm... wait for Nehalem or go for this..... decisions....

Wait for Nehalem and then go for this (yorkfield w/DDR2) as the penryn system's price-point and performance will be quite enticing once Nehalem puts price pressure on those yorkie ASP's.

Nehalem + DDR3 + X58 mobo != budget-minded build :p
