Link not displaying as typed

So the link I want, renders into the forum as this: https://*******/photos/qvWfVHA56KJFxLXw7

I have to space it out and do this for it so show semi properly:

https:// goo. gl /photos/qvWfVHA56KJFxLXw7

Why is this?

Unless policy has changed, URL shorteners are banned here. Too much abuse from spammers.

Ok so how did you get it to not use the URL shortener? I uploaded some pics to my google account and asked the page to create a shareable link so I could post it here. How did you unshorten it?

At least temporarily, it should work again. I'll present it to the other admins that I think this is a special case - as far as I know, goo . gl is google's specific shortener to go to pages on google. Thus, as far as I know, spammers wouldn't be using it to get around censored websites.


Edit: update - seems spammers have been using it to spam free movies. In order to get around the censor of goo . gl, simply paste their shortened link in for the URL, go to the page, and copy the new URL.

D'oh! I was grabbing the link from the link generator and not from the address bar
