Does anyone know of a software application for Linux or Windows that would allow me to type notes and have it record and sync my typing to any audio that is being recorded at the same time?

I want the functionality of the Livescribe Pen but on the Asus Eee so I can take my Eee to meetings, type notes during the meeting and record all the audio, then later click on parts of my notes and have it play back the audio that was being recorded at the time I typed that note.

I found the software for OS X 10.5 (Pear Note) but I have a Eee 701 so linux or xp would be ideal

Microsoft Office OneNote can do this I believe. It's not free, but I've only heard positive things about the program.

Yes I have onenote. The problem is onenote links an entire recording (from when I press start recording to when I press end recording) all in one wma file.

What I'm looking for is to enter a 1 hour meeting. At the start of the meeting hit "start recording". As I'm taking notes the audio is linking directly to the notes I'm taking. So later when I review my notes, I can click on a portion of the text I took and the audio that occurred while I typed that specific letter/word of text will begin playing from there.

Onenote is close, but without the linking inside the audio file to the text I'm typing, as opposed to the entire audio file being linked to the entire text, it falls short of what I would like to do.

Hmm maybe I'll need to upgrade my onenote and try it again. :) Thanks for the link!
