Lines on my trinitron monitor?

I just got a KDS av-19tf and it has 2 lines across the monitor, I noticed all the other monitors at the store with trinitron screens had the same, is bugging me, is this normal, is thier a way to make them less noticable, they mention in the literature that they are to secure apature grill, but are really distracting.

Those are damper wires -all flat screen monitors(Trinitron, Diamondtron) have them. After a while you dont even notice them

its aperture grille monitors, the *trons, that have them. an FST (still flat) shadow-mask does not. what makes the little dots is a mesh thats held up to the glass with those two wires you see.

I choose to embrace my ap-grille lines. 🙂

Seriously, those two little lines are SO worth the tradeoff for the excellent quality of this monitor.

it's like Harleys leaking oil; "they just do that"

and that's what the Sony CSR said, too, before an attempted RMA
