Hu? I said it was some variation of a pyramid scheme and it's very risky, just like pyramid schemes. After a few years, companies start depending on their customers purchasing software so they can get their 20%. Customers stop, and the company starts going under. It's a variation. Call it what you want, it's still a variation of a pyramid scheme.
Only if Lindows eliminates the $500 per year licensing/distribution fee and depends entirely upon end-user upsells for its sole source of revenue, which it has no plans to do. No upsell, no revenue sharing. No accounts receivable, no accounts payable.
Its not even remotely in the same galaxy as a pyramid scheme.
i give up. let them think what they want to. they will anyway.
xzeroII until you know what a pyramid scheme is don't go calling things pyramid schemes.
tscenter. hey, amway is network marketing, and in my opinion, it is a legitimate marketing plan. sure it can be abused but you can't deny legitimacy just because something can be abused. name one thing that CAN'T be abuse. it isn't there.
it really gets to me when people go off about pyramid scheme w/o having the faintest idea what it is.
I said it is a VARIATION. Of course it's not a pyramid scheme, but it shares many characteristics and I never said it wasn't legal or legit. I just said I think it's a horrible idea.
It's not even a VARIATION. unless you call all forms of commision a variation of Pyramid Scheme which is of course LUDICROUS. also, it can't be a VARIATION of a pyramid scheme when by DEFINITION a PYRAMID scheme is an ILLEGAL variant of Network marketing.
Get it thru your thick skull. it has NOTHING in common with Pyramid schemes because YOU ARE SELLING A PRODUCT.

The "certain consideration" referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be an amount of money, a purchase of merchandise, a contribution of labor, or the incurrence of obligations.
