They should use Bittorrent. It'd decrease their server load and increase file transfer speeds.

I put the coupon code - but it still showed the $49 amount ? shouldn't it have shown a $0 total ?

and it still asked for credit card info ?

Is this what happened to others ? or did my coupon code not work ?

thanks

I think you picked the wrong product. Be sure to pick the Developers edition which is $59.

I bet you chose the regular edition and not the "developers" edition... the price on the dev edition is $59, not $49
Scroll down a little bit on the lindows page... I almost made the same mistake

Sweet, thanks.

I'm sure the DL queue won't be that big for too long, it's just people jumping on this now. I'll download it sometime next week and try it.

BTW, to those that don't want to format a drive to try this, they give the ISO for running it off of a bootable CD if you just wanna check it out.

You don't have to DL it now, just create an account and "buy" it. It will put the various versions in your My Products folder to DL whenever you want.

Can you d/l and install Lindows on a PC if you are already running Windows XP? Is there a way to switch between the two? Or do you need a seperate PC? Thanks.

although, before I did the $0 cost (never populated the CC page), I was able to path to the FTP site that had 3.x-source and 4.x-source folders.

I was able to copy the folder to my hard drive (well I aborted after 20 min of downloading because it showed 4 hours remaining - @ T1 speeds). Not sure what was going on, since this was before I did the free procedure.

anyway down to 40 in the que

You can use a program like partition magic to create a separate partition for it.

I'm debating between using Lindows and Xandros on my laptop, just to have another choice for when I want to do development work. Not having much luck getting this to download, though. :|

DARHLFJORUEOIPHF!~~

I've gotten to #1 three times now and then gotten an error message!

The one that I'm actaully the most interested in is the CD based version, so that I can check it out without having to install it, similar to Knoppix, Mandrake Move and SuSE live-eval.

Perhaps if several of us each d/l one version each we can then do a bittorrent deal?

The first letter of the coupon code is a I, not a slash. And don't use the quotes.
