It got fantastic reviews initially, but by the end of its run it was overshadowed by newer competition. It should still be a fun car to drive and Ford's DEW98 platform is solid.

If it were me, I would look for a 2003 or newer because there were numerous improvements made for the 2003 model year.

On what, the repair bills? Come on, an out of warranty BMW is a bad recommendation to someone shopping for a Lincoln LS unless they've specifically stated maintenance costs are of no concern.
