While reading the "what happens when you die" thread some of the replies reminded me of this and thought I would see what you people think on the subject. The question is your thoughts on all the supposed connections to Lincoln & JFK and possible reincarnation. On one hand everything can be related somehow but on the other you could argue that there is so many that its not a coincidence.

Thought it was pretty interesting and wanted to see what your thoughts on this were?

Everytime you see something that strikes you as odd, think about how many chances that event has of occuring simply due to chance. Virtually everything (not seeing everything simply because you never know) that strikes you as seemingly odd is due to chance.

every 4th president has died of unnatural causes supposedly because President Harrison slaughtered Tecumseh's tribe, so he put a curse on him. 1 month later Harrison died in office, according to our history teacher supposedly the curse goes something like "the earth will tremble and every 20 years the Big Man (president) will die"

well shortly after a massive earthquake happened causing the mississippi river to flow backwards for several days, and then the president died, and so every 20 years it has happened:

Elected 1840: Harrison of unknown sickness
1860: Lincoln, assasinated
1880: Garfield, assasinated
1900: McKinley, assasinated
1920: Harding, unknown illness
1940: FDR, Brain Hemmorage [how common is that?!]
1960: JFK, assasinated
1980: Reagan, shot two inches from the heart but saved by medical technology

our teacher said he would have died w/o our modern technology and that Reagan might have broken the curse hopefully, although Bush and pretzels...
