You swing a club 135 miles an hour with most of the torque being on your left knee and get back to me. Your front knee and hip take most of the twist.

Try swinging a golf club at 125mph and tell us there's no torque in your knees.

No one gets hurt playing golf, unless they get hit by a drive or something. My guess is that it was all the running; that will fuck up your knees.

Or your ex-wife beating your kneecaps with a golf club after spiking your aftershave with chloroform.

Knee, back and wrist injuries (hitting the ground with all your might) are common in golf, I don't know what you're talking about.

LOL! I can shoot a 43.

Feel bad for the guy. He swings so damn fast I'm not surprised he has more knee trouble. That's a ton of torque all focused on that one joint.

Seriously? It's golf.

Hey Blackjack,

Golf puts serious amounts of strain on joints and muscles.

Many, many professional golfers have had their careers cut short by injuries. Some with their knees, others the back, others the wrist etc.

We have the science to quantify it now. It is said that the golf swing will put 4 to 8 times the level of normal stress on the knee. Some like Tiger, who because of his particular swing really stress the knee big time. He has fractured his leg because of the stress. Remember, these guys have hundreds if not thousands of swings each day for many days out the year. It adds up.

Since Tiger first hit the scene many have predicted these type of problems. Unlike some other golfers he swing violently, and I think this is in part why he has changed his swing several time - trying avoid over stressing areas of his body. His 1st swing was incredibly hard on his back.

His running won't help matters now. You can run to strengthen your legs to help prevent injuries, but once you've developed them running won't help IMO. The pounding is too much. He needs to switch to biking or swimming IMO.

I've never been a fan of his, I do admire his talent and hard work though. I wish him the best. I'd hate to see his career cut short over injuries.

BTW: He is a very old 35 yrs old. He has been at this since was a little kid (2 yrs old) and been in competitive golf since before he was 10.
