Still curious about your magical 110 octane fuel - what kind of fuel is it? What additives are in it?

Please keep us updated on how the car is holding up and if your changes have truly solved the problem in the long-term.

I'm not aware of any unleaded 110 octane fuel....

I know Sunoco sells only up to 104 unleaded. So yeah... heh. What could possibly go wrong!?

I bet the other guy who is having issues is also using this magical 110 octane fuel ;)

I went back and looked through and apparently the RON for Sunoco's 104 octane race fuel is 109. It's possible that the track or the fuel seller is advertizing only the RON number instead of the usual (RON+MON)/2 rating that US pumps use.

I get the stuff from the track. It says SUNOCO & they told me it was 109 octane. They probably have their info wrong, the guy who pumps the gas isn't the brightest.

As for the car, I have now completed 2 whole race days for a total of 143 laps, placing 2nd the one day & 1st the other day & not once has the car hiccuped, sputtered or gone into limp mode. So I feel safe in saying that as of right now the problem is fixed.

Although one of the other, one of the other Preludes running out there decided to take his power steering belt off & in practice his car started doing the limp mode thing. I told him to put the belt back on & so he did. He went out for another practice & the car was fine, he never hit that limp mode again the rest of the day.
