It was easy to predict a rough reception for the rap-rock has-beens when a significant segment of the crowd booed a mention of the band by previous openers Linkin Park. When Limp Bizkit actually appeared around 7 o'clock, the boos intensified, and some fans pelted the stage with garbage.
The famously brainless Durst only fanned the flames, first encouraging the catcalls and flying trash, then swerving into a bizarre tirade against the crowd and city. Ranting that he'd fight anyone in earshot and spluttering explicit sexual putdowns, uncreative curses and ludicrous homophobic slurs, Durst simply self-destructed.
...
But then the band left the stage and Durst resumed his vulgar invective from the wings until, mercifully, he was relieved of the microphone.
The aborted set left fans to wait more than 90 minutes for Metallica, but the mood never turned ugly--maybe because a lengthy delay was better than suffering through any more Limp Bizkit.

If that doesn't indicate "has beens", I don't know what does. It's good to see people exercise their right in such a public forum, especially against some ass clows like them.

hehe, guess it just depends on where you are...I went to the Summer Sanitarium stop at Detroit/Pontiac Silverdome, and they were very well received. (Moreso than I would have thought) But I guess it just depends on the makeup of the area. lots of trash at that show :)

But not to hate him entirely, LP's show was actually pretty good, lots of energy. hell, even Rolling Stone mag noticed it.

Doesn't matter tho, with Linkin Park and METALLICA before/after them, respectively. :D

I saw them once and they were pretty good before they got on MTV and stuff, now they are pretty lame.

Durst was pelted with assorted crap throughout their entire concert in detroit and had his hat stolen at one point...he got a little pissed at a group of people up front and called them pussies or something but didn't get quite this out of control. He was soaked with beer from having beer cups thrown at him by the end of the night. But yeah, I guess compared to this concert, that's a relatively warm reception. :)
