Last week, while surfing (Cable, Motorola Modem), I suddenly lost my connection. A quick check of the modem and all the lights were off, so I assumed it was a modem problem.
Unplugged the adapter from the modem, waited a few minutes, and plugged it back in. Nothing still.
Put the laptop down and fixed a bite to eat, when I returned, I noticed all of the lights on the modem were back on as normal. Picked up the laptop, but couldn't connect to the web. Checking the connection, I got a message "Limited or no Connectivity".
Tried running "Repair" from Control Panel, but would stop with the message "Unable to verify DNS address" (IIRC).
Tried another laptop, worked like a charm, so I tried changing my NIC in the original laptop, same error, same messages. Take this original laptop to work, hook up to my DSL and it works fine. Take it home for the weekend, works fine there. Take it back to my apartment, and all I get is "Limited or no Connectivity"!
I have even tried changing Hard Drives to see if it is a Windows XP or SP2 issue, but they all do the same thing.
This only happens with this one laptop in particular (I have 3 M700s at the moment, have tried all 3!)
Searched the 'net and Googled myself silly to no avail.
Any ideas?
