"Limited or no connectivity" after SP2 install

Its a bubble in the corner saying "limited or no connectivity. and there is no internet connection. I installed the microsoft patch and tried the registry tweak per google search to no avail.

The only thing that works is if i disable the NIC in device manager and the re-enable it. but after a restart the message is back.

Is there a fix im missing? or can you tell me how to make a batch file or similar to automate the disable an re-enable of my NIC. Thanks.

Have you ever had a malware infection on the computer?

What's your motherboard? I had same problem with a bad Gigabyte board. Tried everything, but could not get the internet connection to work.
