I've been trying to get my wireless stuff running all weekend. I set up the router (Linksys WRT54G 2.2) and the wireless adapter card (Xterasys 54Mbps 802.11g Wireless LAN PCI Card). I got it to work fine on an with an unsecured connection, but whenever I try to connect with WEP encryption (have tried both 64 and 128 bit), I get a limted or no connection error on my connection. I tried WPA encryption and it just won't connect. I'm sure I'm using the correct keys and everything (I'm inputting the actual hex key, copying it directly so there's no typo). I upgraded the firmware on the router (to the newer linksys one, haven't tried Sveasoft's yet), and it doesn't change anything. I actually have the same card in two systems, both have similar problems (one is using SP2 and the other I still have SP1, the one with SP2 gives me an error, the one with SP1 just won't go anywhere after it's connected. Both say excellent connection, here are all of the complete hardware specs of each system:
SP2 system:
Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester
DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra
Corsair Valueram 2.5 cas 1gb
Gigabyte Geforce 6600
US Robotics 56k modem
160GB Seagate 7200.7
Samsung 352B CD-RW/DVD-Rom combo
Fortron Blue Storm 500w
Xterasys 54mbps wireless G card (XN-2523G)
SP1 System
Athlon XP 1800+
K7S5A Rev 3.1 (I think, 3. something at least)
768mg ddr
Geforce 2 MX
120mb seagate 7200.7
Sony CD-RW
Antec 350w Smart Power
Same Xterasys card
I realize a lot of that information is probably irrelevant, just wanted to be thorough.
Both systems are fresh installs, both at default settings.
Anyone know what could be wrong? Are the cards simply incompatible? I'd rather not have to replace them, since I already have to cut off part of one card (the metal frame part to attach to the case was longer than standard ATX case for some reason on one card, so in order to have the card fully seated I had to cut a few millimeters off, I'm sure I didn't damage the card since I tried the other one with the same result.)
I plan on trying a linksys card, but I'd rather not have to throw an extra $100 onto this setup.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Edit: The message that pops up with the limited connection error is: You might not be able to access the internet or some network resources. This problem occured becuase the network did not assign a network address to the computer.
It also gave me an unable to renew IP error when I tried to repair it.
