Yes, but Bach's almost Neo-orthdoxical convictions of the nature of reality made him choose idealistically, and his practical everyday life had the consequences of his choices. When one lives in dreams and doesn't fully live in reality knowing that all one has are dreams, then a portion of experience is lost, and one never really partakes of the world through attachment.

And at the same time, we must hold fast to dreams. He makes a poignant statement.
