Currently you can go up to 80 or so lines in your sig (one character per line), because it seems that sigs are mainly limited by # of characters, which is pretty silly as could lead to the forum getting pretty messed up if some clowns decide to abuse it.
Plus over 10 lines in a sig isn't really necessary anyway, not even for listing system specs.

I am sure that abuse gets straighten out very quickly when it is brought to the attention of the Mods.

I've seen plenty of sig abuse, and usually by the time it starts getting to me the Mods have taken care of it. I especially loved the guy who had a sig like this

about a year ago. You really can't stop that kind of bull**** from happening (without getting a bit draconian) but it seems to get taken care of pretty quickly here.

Edit: Oops, word filter didn't work. ;)

I've proposed a 4 line limit in the past. Anything over that is pretty ******. Of course it was rejected.

There's pretty much no way to do this in code, unfortunately. Well, maybe you could make the sig area a DIV with an absolutely defined height with no overflow. That'd be a nice self-regulating system.
