Limit Link Length

Would it be possible to implement a limit on the length of links that are displayed?

Mozilla does not linebreak links so the really long ones make threads impossible to read, even at 1600x1200.

Perhaps links could only display a certain number of characters instead of the entire location.

Example
instead of displaying:
http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:MRuOyECYaLQJ:www.net-weather.co.uk/worldweather/cities/cities.shtml%3Fcountry%3DUnited%2BKingdom%26Submit%3DGet%2Bcities%2Bfor%2Bthis%2Bcountry%2Bfor%2Bthis%2Bcountry++site:www.net-weather.co.uk+weather+forum&hl=en&lr=lang_en

it could just show:
http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:MRuOyECYaLQJ:www.net-weather.co.uk/worldweather...

Trying to read this paragraph in Mozilla will illustrate the problem:
Select the city you would like to view the weather report for and then click 'get weather'. This will load a new page with the weather report on it, to come back to this page and select another city, click the back button on your browser. This is an early version of this facility and we will be working to make it more user friendly in the near future. The owners of net-weather.co.uk hold no responsibility for losses or damage to property or injury to persons due to any information or forecasts contained in this website. The application of any of the information or forecasts within this site are entirely at the users risk. The information and forecasts held on this website and any services linked with the website are provided on an as is basis, the owners of net-weather hold no responsibility for losses or damage to property or injury to persons due to any of these being unavailable at any time.

It's certainly doable because I've seen it in vBulletin. You might want to suggest it here also.

For the love of God I hope this feature is implemented. Having to horizontally scroll every message can ruin an otherwise decent thread, all because of one bad link.

This problem has been bought up, but not addressed, in this thread. This could be a good idea on how to reduce the problem, or alternatively, they could put it back to how it was before the downgrade, and make it so that only the one reply with the stupidly long link will require the page to scroll.

Yep, this is still an issue which isn't solved.

Very frustrating, and is still making me hate this version of FT. Not good when FT goes from my favourite forum software to my least favourite forum software in one version.
