I don't think it was ever spyware, it was just complete and utter shit is all...The sheer amount of possibilities of contracting all sorts of malware from whatever you were downloading turned me off it.

Yes, the same thing got me away from it. Just too many trojans and malware with the downloads.

I had a long reply but I couldn't post it. I am on the infected machine. I can only connect to the Internet in safe mode. No AV will run either software based or online. It has Trend Micro on it and I tried to shut it down and install AVG, no joy.
The cursor jumps all over the place too.

If you didn't already try System Restore, give that a whirl as an opening move.

If you have a healthy system that can burn CDs, download AntiVir's Rescue CD creator from here: http://dl1.pro.antivir.de/pack...e_system-common-en.exe Run it, and create a bootable virus-scanning CD, then boot the afflicted system from that CD and run a scan. If you see malware detected, note down the names of it.
