I'm afraid the RIAA is still on their crusade to screw over the rest of the p2p companies. From a networking engineer standpoint (which I'm not really one) I say it's the greatest thing in the world. Those stupid programs suck bandwidth like crazy from networks and do a TON of damage to the internet as a whole. They should simply be killed for that reason. As for the RIAA, they don't have any business making those decisions for the rest of us.
 
Limewire is open source, so all it will take is a few days for a couple of smart programmers to remove the changes and publish their own version of the software.

Yeah, the RIAA is the villain for trying to stop thieves from stealing copyrighted material.

There will always be new programs. Even if they shut them all down (not gonna happen), there will still be IRC.
