Wasn't Rush on a few MNF? He's a pretty big fan. Good for him. I'm surprised he doesn't buy the Patriots, that would make more sense. :)

They'll never run to the left
...

I hope that doesn't go through. Or if it does he moves the team. The last thing I want is to see any more of that guy in my town.

I thought I heard a rumor a few weeks back that there was a group in London that was thinking about putting a bid on the Rams in order to move them to London once they could get out of the stadium deal (2012 or 2014, IIRC). Of course the way they are playing, maybe we should exile them.

he was beat out by Dennis Miller for the job

He was booted for some remark over Randall Cunningham? Anyway Rush was a sports announcer before right-wing radio.

He also made some jackass comment that McNabb was overrated and the only reason he was even in the limelight was because he was a black QB.

1) Politically, Rush wouldn't be a good fit up here.

2) Kraft won't sell. He's received offers from various places, but he's not budging.

3) Fuckkkk NO.

McInjured is overrated. And given the NFL's constant drumbeat of Affirmative Action, I can see where Rush got this theory from. This is the league where you have to interview a black coach or you get fined. How is that supposed to help black coaches?

black coach in for interview - "Hello, I'm Mr. Coach."
owner - "No. You're Mr. Token Black Guy that we had to bring here so the league doesn't fine us and call us racists. We've already given the job to this other guy we've wanted to hire all along."

Rush is a huge football fan and knows how to run a business. I think he'll be good for the NFL. Can it possibly get any worse for the Rams?

With the Fox News crazies taking over the extreme right wing wacko fringe from Rush, I guess he is looking for another area he can go into.

Clearly the NFL would not want a polarizing, despised hate monger as an owner.

They have enough problems with Al Davis.

No him owning a team with Sheep as a mascot if a lot more fitting.

He also has connections with drug pushers, in case the players need a boost.

How much in the way of recreational drugs are you taking to damage your brain that badly?

Mcnabb is 32, he still has a few years left at the very least and even now, his stats put him as a Hall of Fame candidate and that's with mostly fairly poor recievers. He will undoubtedly get his TDs above 230, and his passing yards beyond 36k before he retires (196TDs and 30k yards now, Steve Young has 33k yards and 232 TDs in 15 seasons, Mcnabb is in only his 11th).

How many Qbs have 30k passing yards and 3k rush yards?
Fran Tarkenton, Steve Young, John Elway, Steve McNair.

Which QBs have 100 more TDs than interceptions?
Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Steve Young

Read those names again. That;s everyone ever in the NFL that has ever reached those numbers, each of which are shoo ins for HOF status.

2 3000 yard back to back seasons with the #1 and #2 recievers being Chad Lewis and Charles Johnson first and James Thrash and Duce Staley the next.

When he had T.O. he threw for 31TDs and 8 ints, the first ever QB to throw more than 30TDs and less than 10 ints.

Mcnabb is year in and year out in the top 4 QBs every year. He is a 5 time pro bowler, he is if anything, one of the most underrated QBs in the NFL for all the hate he gets.

Also your coaches thing is so full of BS, it sets a new low for how football retarded some fans can be. I'm sure Tony Dungy, Lovie Smith and Mike Tomlin won their coaching jobs by affirmative action.

Next time you post, learn at least the smallest iota about what you're talking about before posting.

I'd think being on the Rams would be enough for most players to demand a trade. Not sure how Rush would change anything.

From the caption under his picture in the article:
Rush Limbaugh, who is from Missouri, is considered by some followers to be the voice of the Republican Party.

What? Really? Who considers him the voice of the Republican Party and how are more Republicans not outraged at this development?

mwmorph,

I have a hard time believing NFL owners are racists. I figure they'll hire the best coach for the job. But why do they need the "Rooney Rule"? And, yes, I think Mike Tomlin got the job because he's black. I'm not saying he's not qualified, but there were lots of qualified people gunning for that job. I think the deciding factor was the color of his skin. Rooney would have looked like a hypocrite had he not hired the black guy.

The Rooney Rule, established in 2003, requires National Football League teams to interview minority candidates for head coaching and senior football operations opportunities. The rule is named for Dan Rooney, the owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the chairman of the league's diversity committee, and indirectly the Rooney family in general due to the team's long history of giving African Americans opportunities that most NFL teams at one point didn't give. It is often cited as an example of affirmative action.

Concerning McNabb, he can't get the job done when it really counts ... as shown by his Super Bowl performance a few years back. The guy's not capable of winning the big games. As an Orange fan, I've got love for McNabb. I know some guys that played along side him at the 'Cuse. I just don't think he's as good as everyone says he is.

Is Tony Romo also overrated because he's black? Oh wait he's a dumb hick that can't win big games but because he's a white country boy he is forgiven everything.

I want to bid for the Houston Oilers and watch them play in the Astrodome again. I miss the Astrodome. :(
