Obama did drugs when he was younger and might have even been a dealer, and yet when they interview him no one seems to ever asking about that part of his past.

Why not?

Perhaps the fact that it happened many years ago makes it unimportant?

I'm trying to decide if this is tunnel vision, fear, or a knee jerk reaction. One thing I know for certain is that if he was someone your weren't concerned about, you wouldn't be commenting.

Everyone should be concerned about Limbaugh, and others like him. He's a morally irresponsible and reprehensible ideologue who does much more damage than good. I'm just amazed there are people who listen to and defend such a disgusting excuse for a human being.

The fact that Radio host Rush Limbaugh was addicted to drugs or that President Obama was addicted to drugs?

Rush is a guy with a radio program, Obama is the most powerful man in the world.

And I think Rush Limbaugh is nuts. Totally fucking nuts. Absolutely and totally fucking nuts. Hearing him run on for 25 minutes makes him seem only a bit more crazy.

Or perhaps it has to do with the fact that Obama didn't go on tirades saying drug addicts should be sent up:

There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.

What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too.

No Non prof John you miss the point. Illegal drugs have mainly the effect of temporarily altering a state of mind and perception, remove the drugs and perceptions return to "normal". Maybe in some very rare cases the drug damage is lasting, but that is not anywhere in evidence with GWB, Obama, or Limbaugh. And because the vast majority of the US population has at least inhaled, there is no compelling evidence that the those that have tried illegal drugs are any more or less "sane" that those who have not.

But IMHO, Obama has always been far more intelligent than GWB or Limbuagh, and no amount of illegal drugs will ever elevate GWB or Limbaugh to smarter state. Maybe the continual use of illegal drugs can diminish Obama to a stupider level, but since Obama gave up the use of illegal drugs 20 years ago, you non Prof John, are simply FOS in beating that dead horse.

What he have his stomach stapled? Just 6 months ago he must have weighed at least 3 bills. You know he doesn't exercise..well golf but that's not gonna knock off that much weight in such a short time.

I don't understand the Rush threads on here. Yes, he's a piece of shit. If you don't like him, don't watch. I sure as hell don't. Fox puts him on the air because he makes them money. He's controversial, so people want to watch. If you didn't foam at every word that comes out of his mouth, he wouldn't be exposed as much and we wouldn't be having this discussion now.

I think Nancy Grace is a bucket of rotten afterbirth, but I don't start a thread every week about it.

Oh come on come on, don't make me support Rush. But the fact is, last time I heard, Limbaugh was adapting a healthier life style and losing weight.

And if in so doing, Rush sets a positive health example for his followers, that benefits his followers if they follow his example.

Both are opiates and that's about where the similarities end, fact remains one is legal, one is not, and he did start out with a valid prescription, and legit medical use.
