Which is why I cannot listen to "Christian rap" anymore. Every time I hear "I DIE FOR MY JESUS" or some shit like that, I just can't take it..
it's not compromise- it's respect, imo. respect for the views of all music-lovers, not just those that share their religious faith. i can only ignore lyrical content so much before i have to move on- probably the 'dumbest' music i listen, honestly, is dream theater. but i get over the often-crud lyrics because it's not a focal point, just an instrument in the orchestra.
rap, imo, is a lot different. lyrics are front and center.
about benjah; i couldn't find a wikipedia page or anything, is he pretty unknown? i figured by the video he was probably pretty popular (high production values and whatnot).
I'm not religious, but it sounds GOOD (I just looked him up)

This ACTUAL lyrical rap is far better than fucking auto tuned bitch ass Lil Wayne.
here's how i think you should write a 'christian' song.

it's so 'obvious' yet can easily rationalize a number of different meanings, should you want to.
(sorry to derail with religion and/or rock, i just have talked about this issue a lot plus thrice is probably my favorite band anymore)
Carter III > Carter IV
That is all.
BTW, Talib's take on Lil Wayne:

Talib's opinion >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ATOT
That is awesome.
"If you don't like it. Don't fucking listen to it."
Perfect.
yup, goes with everything else in life.
shitty job? quit! shitty country? move! shitty family? kill them! shitty life? kill yourself!
we need an equilibrium-like banning of the 'arts,' but we will only burn things from people like lil wayne and larry the cable guy.
yeah, those are all on the same magnitude...
It's more like "don't like a tv show, don't watch it..."
Nice slippery slope though.
not going for slippery slope. pointing out that ignoring things that you don't like is fucking dumb. especially when it goes past 'not liking' to 'the corruption of a generation that will eventually end this country with their stupidity.'
That was Tha Carter III
Tha Carter IV is "Six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch"![]()
At work, I'll have to check out some of these links later. And for what it's worth, I know there is better rap out there, but the problem is most of it was made 15 years ago.
I grew up on 2pac, No Limit stuff (Master P, Tru, etc), old Cash Money stuff (BG, Hot Boyz, etc), Wu Tang, Dre, Mobb Deep, Snoop, Nas, Biggie, all kinds of shit. Unfortunately times have changed and rap, for the most part, has too. Yeah you still have Jay Z, Taleb and other standouts like Tyler the creator.
Anyway, like Wayne since I heard him on the old cash money stuff.
you just lost all credibility by including that guy in the same line as Jayz n Talib
is your favorite song "how to love" lulz
:whiste::whiste:You had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart
Never really had luck, couldnt never figure out
How to love:whiste::whiste::whiste::whiste:
GAY
IMO this album lose 2 points right off the bat for including a song that gay on it eliminating it from ever achieving classic status
