I have a new thread - this one can drop...

Hi all...I added a ton of music this month to mp3.com and its doing quite well. Feel free to check it all out and send me your comments. My motto is "The more you hate the song, the better the next one will be!" so feel free to be as harsh as you please - within reason of course.

Metroid MegaDance Mix, Can't Stop, QuakeXL, and the Wipeout remix are all currently the most popular tunes. Definitely give them a listen and e-mail me your comments!!

I would just like to give a warm thanks to everyone who has been listening / downloading my tracks, and especially to those whom have found my music so wonderful that they have bought CDs!!

Because of people like YOU on this forum, ALL of my game soundtrack songs are now in the top50 of its genre!! Half of all my tracks are even in the top100 of each of their genres, most notably, QuakeXL is #18 in Acid, and Can't Stop is ranking higher and higher in the ever popular Techno section.

I owe this small bit of fame to everyone here and in other forums. THANKS - and come back soon to hear more!

hmmmm - yeah, i've gotten some complaints about that...the people might win on that one.

I guess my logic was that people would come back more often without downloads enabled, but its sounding like people won't listen to them at all unless I enable downloading...

Just realized that I'm a Golden member!! YAY!! ;)

The only one I've really liked so far is Can't Stop. Your others sound a bit too...muted? Not pumping enough...or while fast, they just don't flow with ENERGY. It's like lame backround music for a few of these.

Go for Jeff Lew Dance Music type, ya know? :D:D You've got it in ya. I'd love to hear an aggressive, not-too-repetitive track. Ever heard DJ Hoang? He's great...Maybe listen to one or two of his tunes...they have a fairly progressive, and agressive sound, but not too loud and annoying(IE, Happy Hardcore).

Just trying to help! :)

Thanks Maul - have you seen the new Star Wars trailer that came out last week I think? Just saw it in CompUSA today and was shocked...guess I've had my head in work too much this week, I can't believe I missed its release!!

Thank you for the comments tho - any comments are good ones!! Everyone seems to agree that Can't Stop is one of my best tracks, tho the Metroid Mix has really grown on me. Guess it just depends on your style.

Just to note - MDK2 Reconstruction will likely be in a game being released by Creative Edge Studios next month. You heard it from me first!! ;)

And yes, a lot of them turned out as more subtle than in your face, since most game music is 'background music' and I had done a lot of game music studying before I wrote most of these.

Changing all tracks to downloadable now...

Yep, I've seen it. I've had it on my desktop for quite a while, as a matter of fact. :p :D

I hear(har har) where you're coming from. I do, however, remember Quake II's music was quite in your face...as well as Q3's.

MKII or whatever is what I'm listening to now. Nice...I like this one, too! :D

Ameesh! Thanks for your purchase!! ;) ;)

chiwawa626 - i was into the tracker scene a while back, but never got heavy into it. If I ever had to truly write videogame music, chip-style, I'd probably get back into it, but since everything's CD now, I just personally don't entirely see the point anymore...

buzz is very faithfully installed everytime I reformat however ;)

MIDIman, "Can't Stop" is pretty good, and I can imagine it being good background music for a game. My mp3.com listening tastes, however, tend to run along the lines of "Trance Control" or "Aura - The Source of Trance" and their ilk.

Please keep up the great work :)

Nice. What software do you use?

Edit: I do think LordMaul's right about it sounding a little muted. Techno music is characterized by big beats and a more in-your-face attitude, I think your music would benefit a lot with that.

Ohhh I like!

The "Super Metroid MegaDance Mix sounds great, just a couple things...
I could that track being much better "dance" music if you made the bass hit a little heavier and made the rhythm a little more fast paced, but then again, I can't make music for crap... I can only listen.

I wish I could learn how to do cool stuff like that though :)

Hey MIDIman! Awesome stuff! I downloaded every one of them and so far they're all kicking ass in their own ways, great to listen to, really cool. Just wondering... how do you go about making stuff like this? Is it difficult? Drop me a PM if ya have time. :)

Good job, and good luck, you got potential for .. uh.. something I guess :p

I'm usually not a techno kinda guy, but damn.... You've got some stuff to show off! :D

edit: I know video game tracks often aren't as long as regular songs and all, but... I'd like for these tracks to be a little bit longer.... I don't know if that will suit your purposes though.
