Like surfing?

There's a surfing DVD my father in law likes to watch - Billabong Odyssey. I don't surf, but I still found some of the footage exhilarating.

Nice. I would die. This is about as big as I'm comfortable with.

notfred, is that you riding?

Did you make it?

Looks like you're about to get munched! And pretty darn close to the cliff, where lots of submerged rocks lurk!

Thought you Mitchell's Cove / Steamers / Davenport Landing guys wore gloves & hoods during winter up there, but I see you're not using them. I'd really hate a hood. When I go up there I like Pleasure Point (toilet bowls) because the Hook's too aggro, Steamers hasn't been going off when I'm there, & the great white shark experiences at Davenport Landing bug me too much, although we have 'em down here too.

So, is that you in the pic?

No, it's not me, just some random person. I never wore a helmet or gloves in Santa Cruz, even in the winter, jsut a 4/3 and sometimes booties. Some people do, but most people just wear a fullsuit and booties.

And the guy in the pic isn't really very close to the cliff. When that left is breaking off middle peak, it's usually a good 100 yards from the shoreline. When it gets big at the lane the cliff really isn't an issue.

That was the stupidest ending. Couldn't even wait to see if he came out before it stopped? Lame.

But the surfing part was cool. You could tell right when the wave was going to start breaking and I really hoped he'd make it down.
