I didn't put this in software/apps because I don't really need any technical advice or help, and I thought more people might read the post here =).
2 Games that in my opinion are 2 of the best ever made. They are simple, with no cheesy graphics. It's all about playability. The player base in both of these games is extremely loyal and very skilled.
First:

-This is a top down 2-d space shooter. Probably the best of its kind, and in my opinion one of the best games ever made. It's online only, every other ship you see is another player sitting at their keyboard. Think of it as Asteroids on steroids. So go kill them already =)
Infantry - Download it here. infantry
-Free to play as a guest, where you can enter most zones and play as much as you want, however your score isn't saved. A great way to check the game out to see if it is worth the $7/month charge. With that $7 you get all zone access and as many nicknames as you want. Scores are then saved in all zones.
-Developed by the same people as Subspace, this game is sponsored by Sony (hence the charge if you want to retain nicknames). This is still a third person shooter but with much superior graphics to that of subspace, and it's military based. Very awesome game, I'll probably play until I die.
Honestly, my 10 second review of each game doesn't do them justice. Check them out, download them, it will be worth your time. Need help figuring things out? I play both regularly (though more Infantry these days), send me a private message, my nick is Purgatory-Z.
