watch Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)

The more I got into Shingeki no Kyojin, the more I ended up disappointed. I started off watching the anime, but after seeing that episode 5 didn't show us what happened to the massive cliffhanger in episode 4, I decided to read the manga instead. I've read pretty much all of it that's been released in Japan, and I'm pretty disappointed. The pacing of the story is terrible.

This anime is amazing to say the least.

If I had to describe Sword Art Online to an anime fan, I would say it's like .hack without the awesome music, but with the heavy in-a-game feel that was prominent in series like Mahoujin Guru Guru. By the way, Mahoujin Guru Guru is awesome if you haven't seen it. 😛

Sword Art Online was actually not too bad... until you get halfway. The show just starts into this steady decline that it never really picks up from. I don't think I've talked to anyone that has seen this show that doesn't agree that it should have ended
after they got out of the Sword Art Online world.
Oh, and I couldn't help but chuckle every time they said, "bee-tuh" (beta + cheater); it just sounds so corny.

EDIT:

actually watched the first eps of that after seeing it mentioned in the Steam Sale thread. kind of messed up that the titans look like giant humans that walk around with that weird smile.

Big manga spoiler (about the origin of the giants):
At least from what the manga has suggested, that's because the giants are mutated humans. The special ones (including the skinless and armored) are humans that can control it such as the main character. At one point they go looking for a hole in the wall after the giants were spotted, and they never found one. The one character finds his hometown leveled, and can't help but shake the fact that this one giant is his mother... because she was.
