Like a Rock vs. Built FJord Tough vs. Grab Life by the horns

Between the wife and I, we have owned two Ford trucks, one Chevy, and a Toyota.

I'll stick with Toyota, thank you very much.

Hmm. Lets see.
Chevy Duramax...Aluminum heads.
Dodge tranny...Crap
Ford tranny...See above, just not as stinky.

If you want the perfect truck get a Dodge engine (Cummins), Chevy tranny (Allison) and Ford body (Styling).
THEN you have the perfect truck.

Since thats not possible...Ford FTW.

Definitely, go Nissan. I've got an 8 year old Frontier that I've probably put a grand total of $1000 in repairs to over the years.....and that includes the price of a new set of tires, and a couple front end alignments, plus the a/c compressor going out!

Doesn't seem to matter, any time of the year, it starts first time, every time. Can't say that about any of the Fords, Chevys or Dodges I see around me, though!

8 year old Expedition.....No problems. Not even the AC compressor.

Best all round IMO would be Chevy/GMC. As a auto tech I have worked on all of them and find GM (GMC/Chevy) the best all round. Now if you have a task it will be used for 80% of the time then it might change. As each one has its pros and cons. So that is why I vote GMC/Chevy.

i want a mid 80s to mid 90s quasi classic 4wd truck.
a chevy c series
a ford f series, possibly an older dodge(thats last on my list)
