Lightweight thin and portable 17" monitor?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a very light, compact LCD display that would be less than 1.5 inches thick (not considering the stand base). Preferably a 17" screen and 1680x1050 widescreen resolution.

Most desktop monitors have a bulky rear used for the power supply and all. I'd like something that takes up about as much space as a picture frame hanging on the wall. Obviously it's technically possible due to the size of laptop monitors but nothing seems to be made like that. Low profile televisions that size don't meet the resolution requirements.

My other option would be modding a screen used for a laptop to plug into a DVI port but I'm not sure if that's possible either.

Any ideas?

My purpose is to use it with a SFF gaming PC and fit the entire system securely in a catalog case or similar sized case. It's ironic that it's much easier to build a SFF PC than it is to find a suitable portable monitor to carry around with it.
