lightweight sunglasses?

I currently have this pair of maui jim sunglasses, and they are too heavy for me (they might look light, but they arent). So I was wondering if anyone here knows of any ultralight sunglasses that are of decent quality. I was considering getting this pair, but I just wanted to check here to see if there are any alternatives.

The pair you're considering look like the ones I tried on in Sunglass Hut awhile ago. Too expensive for me, I ended up going with some polarized Ray-bans. If the pair you're linking to are the ones I tried on, they are indeed very light.

You know, may favorite glasses right now are Nike interchange rounds. The have interchangeable lenses, they are very lightweight, comfortable, etc. Not the cheapest around, but they are some sweet shades.......almost as sweet as these.....😎

I used to sell sunglasses, and mauis are great ones. However, most of the weight is in the lenses, not the frames. the trade off is lighter lenses are easier to scratch. if you're willing to go that route, maui jim sport or oakley polarized is the way to go. they use polycarbonate lenses, which reduce weight more than any frame change can.

I decided that scratch resistance was more important than weight, so I got a pair of Smith glasses. Smith makes their lenses with glass, not polycarbonate, so you get a lot tougher pair or lenses. These have been dropped in sand, pavement, cleaned with a dirty T-shirt, and still look new.

You clean a pair of Oakleys with anything other than their ubercloth bag, you'll have nice gouges in your glasses. 🙂
