Lightscribe DVD for X-Qpack

Hello,

I'm looking for an internal lightscribe DVD burner for my SFF case. Would the HP DVD740VI internal dvd burner fit in a X-Qpack case? I have a regular sized power supply (not the one that came with the case).

Does anyone know the actual dimensions of the HP lightscribe DVD740VI dvd burner?

Thanks,
Wally

i wouldn't be suprised if it DOESN'T fit... i barely fit all my sh!t in my case:

6800GT
Audigy Gamer
Leadtek TV Tuner
DVD Burner
Floppy
Two Hard drives
Zalman CNPS7000 Cu

its quite a jumble of wires in there.... give it a shot. you might want to do some measuring.

Yeah..I know what you mean about things barely fitting. (Currently, I have a Samsung DVD buner--no lightscribe-- which just fits). Unfortunately, websites usually don't list out the dimensions of DVD burners (at least haven't found a place which does yet). I may just have to buy the DVD burner see if it fits, if no, return it back.

Thanks,
Wally

Well, I went ahead and did some measuring. From what I see, the HP lightscribe burner would just not fit with the current psu I have (Antec). I did find the dimensions of the burner. That comes out to: L 7.79", W 5.83", H 1.66". The current burner I have comes out to just under 7" in length and that just fits with very little room to spare with the wires and driver power connector practically touching the psu.

yeah.. you probably can't go with that lightscribe internally.... maybe you should get an external firewire hookup for it?

Yeah, I thought about the external too but that would sort of take away from having a SFF system. But as for now, I decided to just wait..maybe in the futre if lightscribe gets more popular, they'd have them for the smaller sized internal burners. In the mean time, it's just using sticker cd labels for me -- I still haves some on supply.

I least I know about 7 inches is the max length burner size which would work for my X-QPack case.
