my living room has 2 rows of recessed lighting.
so if you turn on the switch now, all 8 will light up simultaneously.
now, how can i wire or set them up so that they light up in sequence? kinda like how the lights work at the airport whenever a plane lands? that would be so cool!

You would need to have each light on a relay, and then have an electronic control to activate the relay in sequence. You could either use something that is USB enabled and code a program to do it, or actually solder all the appropriate components together to do it as a stand alone circuit board. I'm not too familiar with electronics so I can't help much there.

Time-delay relays. These are electrically operated switches that can be programmed to turn on after a delay.

Use a separate timer relay for each delay that you want.

i like to set the delay to 1 second, for each pair of light. so 3 seconds after flipping the switch, all 8 lights will be on.
0 seconds :
1 second : :
2 seconds : : :
3 seconds : : : :
