What's that rule, again?

When you see lightning, you start counting and then when you hear thunder, whatever number you stopped, you divide by 5 and thats how many miles away the strike was ???

I heard that too.. that was quite a loud few!! Made me jump :frown:

i was downstairs, multitasking while watching leno . . . saw the light shine on the garage door, definetely knew it was lightning . . .

I always thought it was count the seconds and how many seconds you have is how many kilometers away the strike was. No dividing.

I thought I read somewhere that for every 5 seconds you count, it's a mile away, but don't exactly remember
