yup, that was the snizz back in the day

i paid ~$5000 to build my first PC, 1993, 386DX-33 with 8MB RAM and a HUGE 210MB hard drive ($359), bought a 14.4k modem when it first came out, $275 :D

Well, that was a pretty hot computer back in '89.

Hey, come to think of it, I used an IBM PS/2 with the same specs (386/20, 2mb ram) between 1993-95; got it for only $700!

Hey, I am using a smiliar keyboard on that pic. That is the only part I haven't upgraded. Still working good.

I remember my first 486 DX2 that cost me ~$4000 CDN. Then I upgraded that sucker with extra 8MB EDO SIMM that cost me ~$800. And a 1.6 GB noisy-as-hell Maxtor for $600~$700.

Top of the line dual Athlon MP, 4GB RAM, 6+ SCSI drives in whatever RAID you want, 300GB+ worth of IDE storage, Matrox Parhelia :D hooked to 3x 20" Dell UXGA LCD monitors. There will probably still be some leftover so get a TB Santa Cruz and hook it up to some nice speakers.
