Lightning=1 Me= Pwnt

Huge electrical storm yesterday. Looks like lightning ran in through the phone line. Got my DSL modem, satellite reciever and apparently my computer. I had all of these plugged into a surge protector, but nothing protecting the phone line. 🙁 What sucks is that the protector HAS a phone line input on it, I just didn't have it plugged in.

I guess Earthlink and Direct TV will replace my stuff for me, so all I need is a new mobo and power supply. Apparentlly my wallet was pwnt as well. 🙁

I just refused to believe that it was lightning for the first 30 minutes or so. Then I looked at my modem behind my desk and it was off. It won't come on or anything. SO it took the brunt I guess.

I tried a different PS in my comp and it acts wierd. When I plug it up the fans will spin just for a sec, even though you don't touch the power switch. 😕 There's seems to be a clicking sound coming from the computer as well?

Man, you be screwed. At least you have an excuse to upgrade now, and remember to actually use the phone line part of the surge protector next time 🙂
