Lighting/Shadow Problems

OK, A few of the games i play have real lighting/shadow issues. Examples being, me able to see light through walls, see other shadows through my character, even some times, shadows will be inverted colours which just is annoying.

I've been told to download drivers, and well, I think I did

Graphics Driver > GeForce 7 Series > Windows 2000 / XP

Now tell me if im wrong, but thats what I downloaded : Version 93.71
and no improvement...

I have a eVGA 7900 GS and, its not performing like it should. Any suggestions or tips to fix this problem would be GREATLY appreciated
 
FIXED.

Hmm, ok, so, again I don't REALLY know much about tweeking video cards, but, I went into the NVIDIA setting and changed the refresh rate to 72 Hz, and now I don't have a problem. Id be curious to know how this effected it. Could someone explain this to me?
