Does anybody know which is the lightest, least-resource-heavy browser for Windows '98? I'm running an extemely old laptop with a Pentium-100 and 16MB RAM, so I don't wanna be using this IE6.0 that I just installed.

All of the browser-comparisons online seem not to tell any of this kind of information, but what kind of features that each browser supports. I won't be using this computer for anything but normal web-surfing. Nothing too graphics-intensive is necessary.

Thanks.

You could try firebird, but even that might be a bit heavy for you. If you're willing, you could try going back to IE4 or Netscape 4.7.

For a P100 w/16mb of RAM, I'd run Win95 instead of 98...system will seem much peppier. Alternatively, you could use 98Lite to slim down/speed up 98. As far as a browser, FireBird's the best out there but it might be too much for that older system. You could try Opera...

I would think Opera would be heftier than Firebird?
