lightest, fastest, cheapest? - in that order -

anyone have any suggestions on the lightest, fastest, cheapest notebook out there? i've been looking at the IBM Thinkpad X at around $1500. this is a bit pricy, but has anyone caught wind of anything else? i need something to replace my beastly (but powerful) vaio GRX. back trauma's just not worth desktop mobility.

heh; that's true. but i meant my question to act as a filter. find the lightest, then the fastest among them, then the cheapest, as such...

[ group of lightest laptops ] ---> [ discard slower half; keep faster half ] ---> [ discard most expensive, keep cheapest ]

btw, i didnt even realize the forum you linked existed. boy, is it utterly d-e-d DEAD
