Lighter Heat Sink

Most folks recommend getting the Zalman 7000 series heatsink, but they are huge and more importantly weights a lot. It just seems like it may damage the cpu (if it goes off its mounting) if it were used in a lan party pc where it may get lugged around. Does anyone recommend a much lighter heatsink that work as well or almost as well (light enough that if you move the PC regularly, it won't damage the cpu?) that's equally quiet?

 
Actually the 7000 Cu and 7000 Al-Cu perform about the same. The Al-Cu is much lighter however. The 7700 series, especially the Cu one is voluminous 😛 as well as very heavy. For your situation I would recommend a 7000 Al-Cu or Thermalright xp-90. Another thing that I did was buy a new MB retention bracket that uses steel screws through the MB, to get away from those stock plastic pins. Now, I feel alot more comfortable knowing that my $400 video below is a bit more protected......
