Light on router stays on after power down

I have 3 computers connected to a router 2 machines have a linksys etherfast 10/100 and 1 has a smc 10/100 card The machines with the linksys cards have the ready light stay on on the router evrn when turned off. The smc card's light on the router turns off when the machine is off. Is there a setting on the motherboard that i might have enabled that would cause this?? Why is this unique to the linksys nic card's (the router is also a lnksys) any feedback or help is appreciated. Mark

The power on the compter is off? Are they set for a "boot from lan" option? That would keep them powered. Probably a switch in the bios to disable. I know with 3com cards, if you hook up the jumper wire, they do that. I think removing the wire also would get them to power down.

what do yoy mean by "jumper wire" ?? is that the wire that came witch the card ?? i don't have the jumperwre connected t all with these cards. thanks for replying

I get the same thing with all of my Linksys cards....I actually like it though,
because it tells me whether the computer is hooked up and that the network is working properly.
