Lifting weights

When I hi a certain point in my lift, no matter the weight (even without the bar, weightless squat) just above 90 degree angle on my knees, my left one pops, and if I go anywhere below a 90 degree my right knee pops.

Is this normal for squats?

this happens on any major lifting that involves knees, so I don't know what kind of lifts I can do. Same thing happens on leg press etc.

Get your knees checked out. Most people have one problem or another with their knees.

Does it cause YOU PAIN?

Koing

No pain, and like I said ballmode, no weight involved and it will still do it.

It may have to do with the fact I'm extremely tall, I hear it's common for tall people to experience knee problems. (6'5 and still growing 🙁)

i would avoid doing anything that triggers it. do different workouts to hit the muscles.

next time you are at the dr office, ask the question there.

If I do pushups, bench/lift anything, squats, something pops just like I'm cracking the knuckles on my fingers.

If it doesn't hurt, then just keep going. If it hurts, then push through the pain. If it breaks, there are bandages.

The cracking is much like that of cracking your knuckles, it doesn't hurt at any low weights, but as soon as I hit ~200+ lbs or so the pain starts to kick in when it cracks.

my left elbow does similar things when I work on triceps... so I try not to trigger it. I figured out other ways to work the triceps without causing it

I have that same problem too. It doesn't hurt, but I can feel it. Also my shoulders do that sometimes too when I work my deltoids.

The popping is the same as poping knuckles. It is actually the joint fluid you hear popping.

That happens to my right elbow. I can feel, hell you can SEE something moving at the joint when it pops. It's like some kind of tendon or something slipping. Doesnt hurt at all, maybe at most if it happens when there's too much weight on it, ill lose a little strength momentarily waiting for my arm to adjust to the slip.

How old are you? Sounds like aging cartiledge. (spelling)

Both my knees crack/pop alot. I had an MRI done and it should that my kness are fvcked. I was told to avoid stairs....lol

You know the finger cracking?

Well if I sit still for a while and then stretch, my ;

- knees crack/pop (when I squat)
- big toes crack/pop
- elbows crack/pop (actually they do this always if I "make like a bird")
- fingers crack/pop (even when I make a fist)
- upperback cracks/pops
- neck cracks/pops (only when moved side to side)

Alltough no pain is involved I just know my joints will be f#cked up in 10-20 years.
🙁
