Lifespan of nforce2 boards

I'm about to build a new system, and I'm trying to decide on the processor. Basically, I'm looking at a 2600 at most, but at least a 2100.

Quick breakdown of prices (from pricewatch):

$231 Athlon XP 2600
$188 Athlon XP 2500
$136 Athlon XP 2400
$103 Athlon XP 2200
$79 Athlon XP 2100

Basically, the only thing that I need to know before deciding is how high the nforce2 will scale. I'm leaning towards the 2100 right now, and I'd upgrade about 6 months down the line. Does that sound like a possibility?
If I'm not going to be able to upgrade to about a 4000, I think I'll just go for a higher end chip now.

So, any comments or opinions about this setup?
 
I haven't been working with the Nforce2 boards but I know the Asus A7N8X supports every AMD through 3000+ Barton and I'm fairly certain it'll support future Barton's via a bios update. From what I've read it should handle a 400fsb Barton when/if it is available so the Nforce2 is the most future proofed sktA board at the moment and I haven't seen much on the KT400A but if this .Inquirer Blurb can be believed, it looks like the Nforce2 will still be superior to it so it certainly sounds like you'd be going the best route.
