Good suggestion aphex. I think a lifer + elite lounge would be a nice idea.

Not sure why, though. The title of "Elite" around here means about as much as "Lifer" does. However, there are exceptions to the rule.
 
It may pay off to segregate the Lifers from the rest of the crowd, providing that it's very effective.
 
Great idea, one more reason for people to post useless drivel. Howabout an elite lounge? Then you have to do something useful; or in my case, bribe someone. Either way, you earned your way in.

and what exactly would we lifers talk about in there? its not like we have any special permissions on this site and need to discuss using them or anything.

unless you just want an area to make fun of all the people who are non-lifers, then ok...lol

these are all ideas that are no where near implementation -- they're just ideas and I'd like to see what you guys think.

if we decided to bring back subscriptions, would you guys be interested in a special forum, for subscribers only, where we would basically eliminate all rules?

it would be a place where you could say or link to anything you wanted with mods only very rarely stepping in for the most extreme cases of insanity and destruction (like I think it's safe to say we wouldn't allow people to organize or plan illegal activity -- no terrorist plots either).

thoughts?

What do the mods currently censor (from what I can tell)? Expletive-laden posts, racist rants, scammers in hot deals, spammers.

So the unmoderated subscribers forum would allow all of these lovely posts?

I'd pass.
