-Best time to buy an M4 is just after a republican gets elected. Less fear of gun bans, so less people buying up all the guns.

-Best time to buy a winter coat is in the summer. I bought my winter coat in summer last year. Got a $200 coat for $60.
-Best time to buy Christmas wrapping paper is in January.

-Best time to buy halloween candy is in November, but I wouldn't try it since it may not last until next halloween.

I disagree with the time to buy a house. The best time to buy is during the winter. The only advantage to waiting until spring/summer is that's when there are many more houses on the market, so you might be able to find a nicer house.

BUT, if a house doesn't sell, it will drag into the winter, and the seller will get more desperate to take your offer because they know if it didn't sell during the peak season, it's not likely to sell during the off-season, and they'll have to drop the asking price the next spring anyway. In the meantime, they are stuck in the house still paying for it.

All realtors will tell you to put your house on the market in the spring, and that your best chance to sell is during the spring/summer.

It's all common sense shit that lifehacker regurgitates every year.

Basically it boils down to this: buy stuff out of season or buy stuff earlier than the rest of the crowd.

Depends on what area of the country you're in. In areas where there is freezing, you won't see any kind of basement leakage / drainage problems if you purchase during the winter, but you will see it during the Spring / Fall.
