Life - What a money pit.

Stop subscribing to the American Dream of "I must wake up to make money to accumulate material happiness."

Live a nice simple life of farming and self-sufficiency to take care of your family and develop strong, loving, healthy relationships with friends and family.

As outlandish as its sounds.... I'd love just that. Actually been playin with the idea of movin back home for just that reason.

It's pretty hard to get your mindset off the 'American Dream' when that's what you've been hearing to be the ideal lifestyle pretty much your whole life. I do see myself enjoying living on a farm as that is what all my relatives in India do... but I don't know if I'd be able to make it, having used so many pointless (but enjoyable) technological adavances.

How do I envoke the power of death?? 😕

your own or someone elses?

both will get you out of your current state of life

Only wimps take that way out...

Ok, so instead of using a gun, if I kill another person using a tea cup would this make me less of a wimp??

Nothing outlandish about living simply. It may not be what others think is the "right" way, but it's actually pretty easy to do.

I have visited farms before; I have exactly zero desire to live on a farm.

Exchanging a relatively progressive culture to regress into a stagnant agrarian existence is unlikely to make anyone happier. I have no intention of returning to the dark ages voluntarily.

Happiness is different for everyone. There is no blanket solution. Finding out what makes you happy is one of the largest challenges in life and I welcome it.

Then you havent visited farms. There actually (some anyways) pretty cutting edge. GPS navigation on the equipment, high speed internet. Think of all the benefits of your home in the city, with 1/1000 the population density. You can go muddin, ride the ATV's like a mad man, shoot guns, party and be loud and still frag someones ass on UT when the need arises. 😎

No broadband. 😛

You miss out not being close to a large city. I live at least 90 a minute drive from a city of any real size. There is lots of fun crap to do in most major cities.

Though, the guns issue does weigh heavily with me. Luckily my range is exactly four minutes away from my house.

Yes, life sucks. I want God to start over and this time to assemble everything before he decides to put people on earth.

I hope you aren't talking about moving back in with your parents... :disgust:

Yeah, thats exactly it. I'm going to scrap my 50k a year job, sell the house and me, the wife and 3 kids are going to move back in with my parents. :disgust:

NO!! I mean move back home into my own house and work for my dad silly!!

I went to see a friend who is dying from cancer, among other things, who isn't very old. You go and see a man in that situation and it really puts things into perspective. All those things I must have, I probably don't really need.
