I have question. Im halfway through the book. Chapter 37, the one where he enters the pacific ocean, it talks about him saving Richard Parker. Does this chapter tie in somewhere else later on? It doesn't make any sense, because it's three days after that he even realizes Richard Parker is on the boat. Im not looking for anyone to spoil anything, it just didn't make any sense and nothing has tied it together yet.

It all ties together. Be patient. Good book. Start a thread when you're finished. It leads to some interesting discussion.

I am reading this now as well, and I love it. I am about 3/4 of the way through, and it keeps getting better. I have started reading it less often because I want it to last a bit longer :)

Great book!!

Great book!!

Im on page 200 right now. It is a great book. In fact I've read a few good books lately. I read tuesdays with Morrie, the five people you meet in heaven and the curious incident of the dog in the night-time last week. I've always hated reading until about a month ago. Strange the older we get. Last night I bought Purpose driven life, Moneyball, Liars poker, the new new thing, next, touching the void, davinci code and rule of four.

Some would say that Richard Parker is the main character of the book.

No comparison, DaVinci code is nothing more than a cheap thriller, albeit a good one.

Life of Pi is way out of its league.

I didn't find the first 100 pages very interesting. Once he reached the Pacific Ocean I couldn't put it down

Figured if any of you have read this book, we could probably get a pretty good discussion going. I'll go ahead and start it off by asking a very simple question...Story one or Story two? Which do you believe?

The frenchmen kinda through me off for a while. Story two though helped me see what it was all about. They were both great stories. Not sure which one i believe though
