I had no idea the suicide clause only applied to the first two years of life insurance policies. All this time I was under the impression if you offed yourself at anytime the company did not have to pay (which makes sense to me).

After two years the insurance companies have to pay regardless of cause of death.
 
Also, you can lie on the application and misstate your health and as long as you live beyond the first 2 years they gotta pay. Save a ton of money that way

TV lied to me? On one show the company only had to refund the premiums when it turned out to be suicide (after two years).

It's hard to believe it's that simple, or people wanting to provide for their families would be buying insurance and suiciding more often.
 
Huh, I had no idea. I thought it was always null and void if you offed yourself.
